Hastings is home to New Zealand’s largest and most prestigious equestrian event, Land Rover Horse of the Year. This 'must-see' six-day extravaganza offers something for everyone. Spend an extra few days and explore Hastings. Food, wine, shopping, arts and culture are all on offer so take a breath and dive in.

After a two-year hiatus, the show is finally back, and it’s tough to tell who is more excited – riders, spectators, retailers or officials. The Tomoana Showgrounds will be filled to capacity for this iconic event, which covers showjumping, eventing, dressage, para-equestrian, mounted games and everything in between.

There are some fantastic hospitality packages available, including a very limited VIP pass, a Saturday cross country experience at the Waikoko Garden Lake for the closest seats to the heart-stopping action eventing brings, and of course, Sunday Cup Day ringside, where the crème de la crème will be crowned across the disciplines.

Even the Australians will be in Hastings for the event, taking on our best eventers in the biennial Oceania teams’ clash, which runs Friday through to Sunday.

180-plus shopping stalls will be offering everything from jewellery and clothing to gourmet food, all manner of horse gear, and more. The Resene Kids’ Zone is a chance for youngsters to learn all there is about owning a horse.
