Event Details
Charles Harris has worked, primarily as a creative director in advertising for global agencies such as Bates, FCB, Leo Burnett, Publicis and J Walter Thompson. Charles’s work for brands that include British Airways, QANTAS, Sony, Nestle, Kraft, BP, Gilette and many more have earned him global awards. His experience in advertising affords us a behind-the-scenes insight as to what works, what doesn’t and why.
The talk focuses on how creative genius and craftmanship have enabled the Poster to become the world’s effective method of mass communication. Inspirational work by superb artists (Manet, Chéret, Mucha, Steinlen and Toulouse-Lautrec) made the poster great. Charles will share how an effective poster is designed, how it plays on the mind and why most posters go unnoticed today.
