Event Details
Art Deco design was at its height at the time of the 1931 Hawke’s Bay earthquake, a fact well understood by those responsible for the appearance of Hawke’s Bay’s new buildings.
This exhibition is a celebration of an era that embraced bold geometry, luxurious craftmanship and allure of distant cultures. Its all-pervasiveness can be seen in everything from huge skyscrapers to toast racks and teapots.
Entry is free.
