The Berry Family is back! The Hastings Music Society is again hosting the Berry Family in concert, and this time they are presenting, ‘Pick of the Bunch’ with a wide variety of music from three generations of family and friends. Highlights include Ralph Hunter playing a March and Reel on the Highland Pipes, Peter Berry singing Dolcinea and The Impossible Dream from ‘Man of La Mancha’, a Pipe Organ solo from friend of the family Pat Gallagher, and Bay Cities’ Symphonic Band Co-Conductor Laura Grady performing Mozart’s well-known Rondo for French Horn.
The Berry family are well known for their business, Arataki Honey Ltd, but alongside the bees and honey, Pat and Ian Berry also shared a great love of music which has been passed down to many of their progeny. Convenor and current family matriarch Jenny Cross says, “playing instruments and singing has long been a tradition at family gatherings, and this concert is a great opportunity to hear us perform together!”
‘Pick of the Bunch’ will be at St Matthew’s Church, Hastings on Sunday 12th July, starting at 2pm. Entry is $5 cash at the door, children and Music Society members free of charge.
