One of Napier’s most iconic historic buildings has been reimagined. The Central Fire Station opened its doors for the first time in October 2019 as a modern bistro. The restaurant, aptly named to acknowledge its art-deco heritage, has been invigorated into a casual yet elegant dining space.
An eclectic mix of art deco romanticism in the dining room and a blend of French and Italian cuisine meld in this totally accessible experience by an innovative Kiwi chef at the top of his game. Sam Clark and co-owner Florencia Menehem have mastered the art of getting folk through the doors of this tastefully preserved heritage building and beguiling them with a menu that presents outstanding fresh, seasonal food and a well-curated drinks list that includes plenty of by-the-glass options.
The bistro also includes a private dining room seating up to 12 guests for intimate dinners or day meetings.
