Bell Rock is an iconic lookout accessed reached via a medium intensity walk.

This long, narrow estuary with its wide range of fresh to salty, shallow to deep, and sandy to muddy habitats supports an extremely diverse range of birds, fish, invertebrates and plant life.

The Wairoa Riverside Walk & Cycleway winds 5km along the banks of the scenic Wairoa River.

All of these walks originate from the Waipātiki beach area, aobut 40min drive north of Napier Waipātiki Scenic Reserve This walk is situated just before Waipātiki Beach 32 kms north of Napier.

While the game embraces a relaxed and informal approach, utilizing natural terrain features like hills, trees, gullies, and even livestock, it’s far from a walk in the park.

Situated on 3,000 acres of gently undulating to steep scenic limestone terrain, this farm has belonged to the Palmer Family for over a century.

Matangi: Bred with Purpose, Grown with Patience, Crafted with Precision Matangi is a boutique, family-owned farming business producing premium, 100% grass-fed Angus Beef and chicory-finished Lamb.

Located in the mid-eastern Ruahine Forest Park, Sunrise Hut is situated on the top of the Ruahine Ranges.  The original hut was constructed in 1983 by NZFS, and upgraded in 2005.

Lake Waikaremoana is located in Te Urewera in the North Island of New Zealand, 60 kilometres northwest of Wairoa.

To walk to the Lookout, head north along Marine Parade and turn left on Coote Road just past Ocean Spa.

There are two options to see the waterfalls - if you only have time for one, it's recommended to do the second one.

Shine Falls is currently closed - see Department of Conservation website for more information Shine Falls is roughly a 1.5 hours drive away from Napier, and the last 12km is gravel road - but it's worth the trip!The Shine Falls track is a 1.5 hour return walk, and leads to the base of the waterfall.

Commence your walk from the Onepoto Bay Shelter - the start (or end) point for the full Lake Waikaremoana Great Walk.  The track rises steadily up Panekire Bluff to the first trig (1 hour one way) with magnificent views of the lake and mountains.

The Waipawa Pavement walk guides visitors through significant historical areas of Waipawa.  Begin the easy one-hour walk at the Heritage Trail Board in the carpark beside the Central Hawke's Bay Museum.  Waipawa has the distinction of being one of New Zealand's earliest inland towns.

This short walk runs along the northern bank of the Wairoa River - referred to as 'North Clyde'.

Gifted in perpetuity to the community in 1927, Te Mata Park is a cultural, historical and recreational treasure.  The wider park is home to an array of walking and mountain biking trails, with most trails also dog-friendly.

From Wairoa, head towards Lake Waikaremoana on SH38.

The gardens are home to Keirunga Homestead and the Keirunga Gardens Arts & Crafts Society, who are settled within the maintained gardens and courtyard and provide community facilities for arts and crafts in the Hastings District.

From the Hawke's Bay side of Lake Waikaremoana, continue following SH38 around the eastern side of the lake until you reach the old Information Centre where you need to turn to Aniwaniwa Rd and follow it for the next 1.5km.

Te Ara o Matareta (Maggie's Way), is an extension of the Rotary Pathways Trust network in Taradale linking to the historic site of Ōtātara Pā.

A’Deanes Bush is the best remaining example of the original forest of the Ruataniwha Plains.
