Join us to hear artist Selina Ershadi and her mother, Azita Chegini, in conversation with Elham Salari as they discuss their collaboration in creating Amator, a film which features in the exhibition, Vital Machinery. Ershadi will also speak to her creative practice, as an Iranian-born, Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland-based, interdisciplinary artist, who works within a lineage of experimental, essayistic, and poetic film forms.

Selina Ershadi is an Iranian-born, Tāmaki Makaurau-based, artist working within a lineage of experimental film forms. She holds an MFA from Elam School of Fine Arts and a BA majoring in English Literature from the University of Auckland.
Azita Chegini was born in Tehran by the foot of Alborz mountains. Her father instilled in her a love for the mountains since she was a child. She studied English Literature at Alameh Tabatabai University and moved to Aotearoa in 1987 with her two young daughters and husband. She studied Early Childhood Education at Auckland University and has worked as a kindergarten teacher for over 28 years.
