This year MTG Century Theatre is proud to host the Resene Architecture and Design Film Festival, 29 May - 11 June 2025.
Enjoy multiple screenings over 13 days, with tickets available online from the MTG website, from the MTG Hawke's Bay museum front desk during opening hours (9.30am - 5pm) and at the MTG Century Theatre foyer desk. The full programme is available to pick up from both venues.
The Resene Architecture & Design Film Festival was launched in 2012 with the purpose of presenting the best architecture and design films to New Zealand cinemas. From the first year, screening only at Rialto Cinemas in Auckland, the festival is now one of the largest architecture and design film festival in the world.
The festival was created by Rialto Cinemas and is now managed in partnership with our curatorial partners, who each year secure a selection of the latest and most captivating architecture and design documentaries—both from around the world and locally made—to premiere those films to New Zealand audiences. Each year, the festival programme is comprised into a series of four thematic pods that each provides an exchange of ideas that can’t be missed. This year the pods represent Masters of Architecture, Fascinating Females, Image as Language and Materials from the Earth.
The festival has been proudly supported by Naming Rights sponsor, Resene, since its inception. Resene share our passion for bringing these inspirational and thought provoking films to cinema screens and we are incredibly grateful for their support.
