Duart House Gardens

51 Duart Road, Havelock North, Hawkes Bay

The historic and colonial Duart house was built in 1882 and is set in three acres of perfectly maintained and restored gardens.

Renowned for its horticultural landscaping and formal gardens, visitors are invited to take a seat at the many benches dotted around the garden.  With a variation of flora and fauna, the garden is quite the treat in the small village of Havelock North. If visiting in Spring/Summer, the garden will be ablaze with gorgeous roses and other flowers.  Autumn time reveals beautiful copper tones, golds and makes a stunning backdrop for photography.

The reserve itself is considered a heritage park for the Hastings District. Part of the grounds is currently used as a space to play croquet and other informal games.

These gardens are always open to the public with Duart House is open on the first Sunday of every month.

Park on Duart Road or head up the driveway for access – bonus is the reserve is pooch friendly (on lead only).
