The Making of Landscape Photographs - Charlie Waite

30 Te Mata Road, Havelock North

Charlie is one of the world’s leading landscape photographers. He has held a multitude of solo exhibitions in London and Tokyo, including being invited to exhibit at the Royal Academy. Over the last 25 years, Charlie has conducted speaking tours in Europe, UK and USA. Charlie is a Fellow of the British Institute of Professional Photographers and the Royal Photographic Society. Charlie launched the UK Landscape Photographer of the Year in 2007 and has published many books.

Charlie’s talk will have at least 60 images to demonstrate and explore the relationship between the making of an image and how it is perceived by the viewer. Charlie will talk about the remarkable relationship between the eye and the brain and how we see and interpret images.

We are a membership society but if you’d like to come to a talk and see if the society interests you, please consider attending as a guest. Guests can attend a maximum of 2 talks a year. There is a fee of $25 / $10 for students which includes wine, tea or coffee, sandwiches and something sweet, all served afterwards and enjoyed whilst talking to others.
