Mangakuri Beach

Okura Road, Central Hawke's Bay, Hawkes Bay

Mangakuri is a smaller, close knit settlement which was established from beachfront land that was part of the original Mangakuri Station many years ago. Just a short drive over the hill from Kairakau Beach, Mangakuri is a smaller, slightly more rustic and natural, but no means less beautiful.

Mangakuri is a lovely spot if you like a beach without the hustle and bustle. Taking on a gentler pace but with all the benefits of a good Central Hawke’s Bay beach, white sand, lovely water and natural landscape to explore.

Getting there

The drive to Mangakuri is an easy 40mins from Waipawa, or just over an hour from Havelock North. The same drive as if you were heading to Kairakau but take a right up the hill on Mangakuri Road before you get to Kairakau Beach, over the gravel road until you wind down into Mangakuri Beach settlement.
