Art Hawke's Bay 19th Annual Exhibition.

This event presents the work from artists and groups across Hawke's Bay in a single exhibition and competition during which all entries are for sale. The competition has prizes in categories such as 'land', 'people' or 'abstract', and there is a 'best in exhibition', the JW Picture Framing 'mystery prize', and a prize for Sculptures.

The Exhibition opens on April 20, with the prizegiving and all Category Winners being announced.

We have secured 2 new selectors for this year and they are Helen Dynes and Clayton Gibson - both from Hawkes Bay. They are looking forward to being involved with the exhibition and we know they will be judging some great artworks from so many talented artists across our region.

Our Selector for Art - Helen Dynes: Helen is an accomplished figurative painter and printmaker whose practices span more than three decades across the UK, Ireland and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Our Selector for Sculpture - Clayton Gibson: Clayton is a Hawke's Bay artist, curator and educator known his large carved wooden sculptures and oil paintings exploring New Zealand's social history, local landscape, and the human condition.

Both selectors will give a floor talk on Saturday April 25 at 1pm, at the Hastings Arts Centre (106 Russell Street South, Hastings).

Art Hawke’s bay is a non-profit organisation and we are very happy to have Harcourts Hawke's Bay as our main sponsor for 2026. For more information about this exhibition, please visit www.arthawkesbay.co.nz.
