I am a Napier based watercolour artist and love working with this medium. In earlier days I was an avid potter however, after many years of hankering to paint I finally put brush to paper and have now been painting for some 10 years.

I especially love the movement and magic that watercolour allows. It's exciting to watch the merging of colours and how the paint can often have a mind of its own. Working with the unexpected sometimes gives rise to greater creativity and the outcomes of a painting can be either controlled or just pure free-flowing.

It's wonderful to allow my imagination to roam and when working on a piece, I enjoy looking for ways I might be able to incorporate a variety of techniques which can add other dimensions to the piece. Creating paintings using other tools as opposed to brushes is a style I particularly like owing to the freedom and diverse outcomes this can bring to a painting.

I hope you enjoy my watercolour paintings that I have brought to this Exhibition.
