The Cheese & Wine Experience

If you love food, wine & especially cheese then this is an unmissable, unique experience.

You will meet up with me, Juliet Harbutt, world expert and international cheese judge at my home, above Black Barn winery, where you will taste your way through some of Hawke’s Bays’ finest wines, best beers or newest ciders matched with some exceptional New Zealand artisan cheese.

Accompanied by Ya Bon bread, edible wildflowers from my garden and seasonal fruit & vegetables, this is a degustation you won’t want to end. Hilarious, illuminating and sometimes even life changing. In a career spanning more than 3 decades my mission is to convert non-believers and wine buffs into cheese addicts. • Each tasting is private, just for you there are no scheduled tastings and are Covid compliant
• You will need to make your own way to my home above Black Barn winery (address provided once booked)
• 2 - 18 people [or up to 150 at another venue]
• The experience takes 2.5 - 3 hours so ideally 1100 -1400 lunch or light supper 1700 -2000
• Minimum 18 hours notice, preferably more than 3 days

PRICE: $245 for 2 people; $85 for each additional person.  $115 for lunch or supper 9 – 19 people

Hawke's Bay Wine Tour (4 hours)

In 1984 Juliet created “Jeroboams the Wine & Cheese Company” in London featuring over 200 raw milk, artisan cheeses and over 300 wines from Europe and the New World.  Since moving to Hawke’s Bay in 2016 she has sought out the very best wines to ensure guests taste a wide, eclectic mix of wines typically 4 wineries including Black Barn and Trinity Hill, that highlight the character and depth of Hawke’s Bay wines.  Lunch at Juliet’s home or at a winery en route.
