From world-class food and wine to art exhibitions and festivals, there’s always something new in Hawke’s Bay waiting to be discovered. Here’s a taster of what is happening in Hawke’s Bay this week.
Bareknuckle BBQ re-opening
A local favourite has officially switched locations, and is re-opening at 1024 Pakowhai Road, Hastings this Wednesday 10 October. If you're after incredible smokehouse steaks, and Mexican cuisine plus plenty of mouth-watering beer, you can't look past Bareknuckle BBQ. Peruse the menu below, and book your spot - it'll be a dinner choice you won't regret.
A perfect event for kids this school holidays, the infamous Duck Day has been an annual event since the early 90’s, and this year it will be coming back to Waipawa on Saturday October 13, running from 9am – 2pm. Duck Day will be held in Nelly Jull Park if the weather is fine. If not, celebrations will be taking place throughout town. Stalls hailing from around Hawke’s Bay, and even further afield will be heading to Waipawa for the day, offering goodies ready to be snapped up.
Here's another activity that will keep them occupied these school holidays. This ‘hands-on’ session will get themstarted! Discover the magic of Stop Motion Animation and Virtual Reality. Learn how to make the models, create storyboards, animate and edit your own short film. It is the most immersive type of reality technology and in this session you’ll take part in a virtual game called Beat Saber, a rhythm game where the goal is to slash the beats which perfectly fit into precisely handcrafted music. Please bring your own USB stick. Book your child's space here.
