An intimate and personal way to discover the ways of Maori people. We'll spend time together at Te Mata Peak sharing the stories, tales and legends of this our native homeland.

Te Matā, Our Giant Ancestor Tour (2 Hours)
Te Matā, legendary giant and Waimārama chief. Enjoy the stunning scenery and panoramic vista from atop Te Matā Peak and spend time with one of the Chiefs descendants, a Māori elder from Waimārama, who will share the stories, tales and legends of this area from Maori creation to the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, pointing out the sacred landmarks of the region.

Combination Tour (4 Hours)
Add the 2 hour Walk with the Ancestors Tour and visit our ancestral lands at Hakikino in Waimarama where our people lived over 700 years ago..

Rates

Te Mata, Our Giant Ancestor Tour (2 hours) $70 per person (2 person minimum)
Transportation is provided for $30 from Havelock North and Hastings, $60 from Napier for up to 5 people. If transportation is used, on board commentary will be provided during the trip.

Combination Tour (4 hours) $125 per person. (2 person minimum)
Transportation is provided for $60 from Havelock North and Hastings, $90 from Napier for up to 5 people. If transportation is used, on board commentary will be provided during the trip.
