Walk with the Ancestors (2 hours)
A friendly and relaxed encounter with ancient history, this tour is an excellent introduction to Māori heritage. You’ll traverse the archaeological remains of the 14th century village, explore the scenic bush reserve and visit protected wetlands sheltering native eels. Your dedicated Māori guide will acquaint you with Māori myths, legends and customs. This tour is full of interaction, spontaneous discussion and the chance to get to know each other. Our gracious guides offer unique and personal perspectives on Māori life.
Combination Tour (4 hours)
Start with the 2 hour Te Matā, Our Giant Ancestor Tour and get an understanding of the history of Hawke's Bay before visiting Hakikino.
Paths of the Past (2 1/2 hours)
A unique opportunity to experience first-hand some of the most important cultural and spiritual traditions in Maori heritage while exploring Hakikino. You'll encounter the warriors challenge as you enter the sacred ground of our home people, participate in the powerful rituals of our traditional welcome ceremony and meet skilled traditional artisans who will demonstrate their arts and crafts.

Rates
Walk with the Ancestors (2 hours) $70 per person 2 person minimum
Transportation is provided for $60 from Havelock North and Hastings, $90 from Napier for up to 5 people. If transportation is used, on board commentary will be provided during the trip.
Combination Tour (4 hours) $125 per person 2 person minimum
Transportation is provided for $60 from Havelock North and Hastings, $90 from Napier for up to 5 people. If transportation is used on board commentary will be provided during the trip.
Paths of the Past (2 1/2 hours) $140 per person 10 person minimum
A moderate level of fitness is required. We recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes.
