Found in Central Hawke's Bay, Otane, just off SH2 between Hastings and Waipawa, is a small township with a big heart.

The town is fiercely promoted by those who live and work there, some of whom have long-time family attachments to the area, and many who have moved there to unwind from city life and be part of the relaxed country lifestyle.

The Sunday Otane market is a great way to kick off exploring Central Hawke’s Bay – the market is held from 9am – 1pm and features local produce, plants, arts, crafts, vinyl records and more! Afterwards take in a coffee and something to eat from McCauley’s cafe housed in the beautiful old Otane Public Library - a beautiful art deco building.

Here’s what you can do:

Otane Sunday Market
McCauley’s Cafe
Millstream Gardens
Wood Mallets – the largest supplier of croquet equipment in the Southern Hemisphere.
