The Hawke's Bay Farmyard Zoo was established in February 2004, since then it has become recognised as one of the leading attractions for both tourists and groups in Hawke's Bay. Known for its unique atmosphere and educational opportunities the Zoo also provides a safe, clean environment with informative signage, limestone walkways, and a picnic area to accommodate large groups such as Birthdays, work functions, and Christmas parties alike.

Come and see our great selection of animals ranging from pigs, sheep and calves to ostriches, alpacas, turtles, peacocks and many more. Springtime at the Zoo is always a popular time with many baby animals being born. We have lamb feeding when available as well as baby pigs, guinea pigs and rabbits.

Bring a picnic or have a BBQ under one of the sheltered picnic tables. We have a great playground, and food to feed the animals with which you can enjoy close interaction with them in a clean safe environment.

There are lots of horses at the Zoo.  We have pony rides for the children, daily Riding Lessons, Holiday Programs or you can book one of our 5 Horse Treks ranging from 1Hr – 3 Hrs which include Beach, Vineyard, River, or Hill Country Treks.
