Fancy taking a bite out of the Hawke’s Bay Trails this Easter?
The Big Easy on the Hawke’s Bay Trails is the ultimate antidote to all those serious lycra laden cycling events held across the country.
The Hawke’s Bay Trails are flat, cruisy and 187kms of fabulous!
We are all systems go! The Big Easy is back and we have added a "Not so Easy" element in 2014.
Easter Saturday April 19th is The Big Easy. Starting at the Village Green (Havelock North Domain) the ride will head out on Te Mata Road towards the limestone of the Hawke's Bay Trails. Following your nose will lead to a bunch of distractions along the way.
It's a 45km ride with far too many places to stop, sip or lick something.... the trail map will be updated soon but your ultimate goal is to hit Church Road from 2.00pm for The Big Easy Concert.
This year the concert features Jackie Clarke, Annie Crummer and Rikki Morris plus local artists Power and Naked Gun.
Transport is provided at both ends to help you get to the start and to your car at the end of the night!
So jump on and register, its $25 for adults (over 16 years) and kids are $10 and for that you get a seriously top notch cool t-shirt, concert entry and access to Big and Easy deals on the route.
Hawke's Bay is the perfect location for such a chilled cycling event:
• we have fantastic off road cycle trails (187+ kms worth)
• our trails are flat!
• we have superb and varied scenery from stunning coastlines to vineyards to Te Mata Peak
• the sun smiles (most of the time!)
• we have plenty of culinary and vineyard temptations
• and our central location means we are easy to get to.
