Celebrating 5 great years in New Zealand
As The Farm at Cape Kidnappers prepares to celebrate five great years of New Zealand hospitality, it is fitting to welcome New Zealand's own international celebrity chef Peter Gordon to the lodge for a special food and wine weekend and celebration, along with one of the country's top wineries, Neudorf.
Peter was the host of the first food and wine weekend (Kauri Cliffs, 2008) held by what is now a trio of lodges for the Robertson family in New Zealand!
Peter is one of New Zealand's most successful exports. He is renowned for his unique culinary philosophy, influenced by his extensive travels around the world. The Whanganui-born chef has three award-winning restaurants in London (The Providores, Tapa Room, and most recently, Kopapa, in the vibrant Seven Dials area of Covent Garden) as well as New Zealand (Bellota anddine by Peter Gordon).
The signature degustation dinner prepared by Peter Gordon at The Farm at Cape Kidnappers will be skillfully matched with Neudorf Vineyard wines from New Zealand's Nelson region. Highly regarded Neudorf winery is a fitting match to Peter's unique brand of flavoursome "fusion" dishes and it is a great pleasure to have Neudorf's Tim and Judy Finn to present the wines throughout the evening.
For those who arrive Friday, the weekend will kick off on Friday night with a cocktail reception celebrating and welcoming Peter Gordon to Cape Kidnappers. On Saturday morning, those guests who have stayed Friday night will have the opportunity to learn from the master, as Peter will conduct a one-hour cooking demonstration where he will chat to guests informally and impart some of his culinary secrets. This will be a special treat and a chance to get to know Peter while enjoying a fantastic cooking experience with him.
Saturday afternoon will provide ample time to enjoy the property or the Hawke’s Bay area, partaking in the choice of golf or a 50-minute massage before the main event that evening.
Tariff for this event is as follows:
Saturday 1st September at the special event rate of NZ$800.00 + 15% GST per person per night based on double or twin occupancy*
Tariff includes accommodation in a suite with pre dinner drinks and canapés, gourmet dinner by Peter Gordon on Saturday night which will be matched with Neudorf wines, full breakfast, complimentary mini-bar (excludes liquor and wine) and use of lodge facilities including your choice of either a day of unlimited green fees OR a 50 minute massage per person during your stay.
With the welcome drinks on Friday evening and a special cooking demonstration planned for Saturday morning with Peter we would encourage guests to take advantage of this opportunity to extend their reservation to include the Friday evening and enjoy the whole weekend at Cape Kidnappers.
