Crimson Sound: Faraway Voices
A concert of music and readings in commemoration of the battles of the Western Front during the First World War.
The names of the battles - Messines, Ypres, Passchendaele - are familiar to us as some of the bloodiest days of the war for New Zealand. Indeed, between June 7 and 13 1917, over 800 New Zealand soldiers were killed in European combat.
'Crimson Sound: Faraway Voices' is intended as an opportunity for reflection, as we tell the stories of the men and women who gave all they could to the cause of peace.
Join local musicians and poets as they explore the experiences of New Zealanders on the Western Front.
