The Quarters is located on the coastal farm of June & Malcolm Rough at Mahia, 2 hours north of Napier or 1 hour south of Gisborne.
Single party bookings of up to 8 people may be accommodated with meals by arrangement.
Two walks have been laid out for you to enjoy, one a 2 hour walk to take in the views of the Mahia. The other an all day return walk to the river at the back of the farm where good swimming holes in bush settings provide a great picnic spot. Also, a track takes you down to 'The Rock', a renowned fishing spot where you can be rewarded with king fish, kahawai or snapper. Crayfish pots are available for guests to use in season.
Nearby Mahanga Beach is well known for its surf while being a safe swimming & boogie boarding beach. There's miles of sand and few people.
Otherwise, just relax with the view, play tennis on the farms well maintained lime court or join in farm activities.
Nearby there are the Morere Hot Pools, Restaurants at Mahia and the legendary Mahia Golf course. A day may be spent going to Lake Waikaremoana in the National Park, or Gisborne for perhaps a wine trail.
In winter The Quarter's fire is warm and it's a great spot to relax.
